All you expats that have been living in Qingdao for a couple years.........

I've been living in Shanghai for about 8 years now, and I might be taking a job in Qingdao. What's the best place to live? I've been to Qingdao many times, and I think the #2 beach area is by far the best, if you don't mind living always from downtown. Let me know what you think. How close can you live to the beach? What is the rent cost?

Also, what's the expat life like in Qingdao? I know its going to be quite different from Shanghai, but any feelings you have, let me know.

30000rmb/year for single room around qingdao university area.
at least 120000rmb/year for above 170sqm around the olympic sailing center. very good sea view and near to the jusco and carrefour, safe management, but it's too much expensive for most people.
